Remember google doesn’t like duplicate content. If you post it on your site, and they post it on their site, google will look to find the true origin, and penalize you if you are showing duplicate content.

you can short-circuit the issue and still have the same content posted in multiple places by using the meta tag. this allows you to cross-post content and state which one is the original one. google does some magic behind the scenes with this tag
Yup. Exactly… but if this is being posted onto someone elses blog, you want to make sure the right person get the SEO juice and both parties do the right thing with Google. :)
I’m 90% sure none of this matters anymore. Last I heard Google just gives the first place it indexed the content priority as the original and everything else as a copy and doesn’t penalize the true origin content.
